Capcom is bringing back some samurai action! They’ve announced a remastered version of the PlayStation 2 classic, “Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny,” slated for release in 2025. This remaster will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
While details on new features are still scarce, the announcement trailer hints at updated graphics and controls for modern gaming, while preserving the original character and asset models. This follows Capcom’s successful 2018 remaster of “Onimusha: Warlords,” continuing their effort to bring the series to a wider audience.
But that’s not all! Capcom also revealed a brand-new “Onimusha” game, “Onimusha: Way of the Sword,” coming in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This new title promises to revitalize the franchise with cutting-edge graphics and gameplay while honoring the series’ core elements.
For now, the exact release date for the “Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny” remaster remains unconfirmed, though it’s expected sometime in 2025. Keep an eye out for more news from Capcom on specific features and the official launch date.
