Ghost of Tsushima Franchise Expands with Anime, Film, and Sequel

The acclaimed video game Ghost of Tsushima is expanding its universe with a diverse range of projects.

* Anime Series: An anime adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, the game’s multiplayer mode, is currently in production. This collaboration between Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Sony Music, and PlayStation Productions will premiere in 2027.

* Creative Team: Directed by Takanobu Mizuno (Star Wars: Visions) and with story by Gen Urobuchi (Fate/Zero), the series will be animated by Kamikaze Douga (Batman Ninja).

* Focus: Departing from Jin Sakai’s story, the anime will explore Japanese mythology and folklore through multiple samurai tales set during the Mongol invasion.

* Availability: The series will be exclusively available on Crunchyroll upon release.

* Live-Action Film: A live-action film adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima is also in development, with John Wick director Chad Stahelski at the helm.

* Game Sequel: Sucker Punch Productions is developing Ghost of Yōtei, a sequel to the original game, slated for a 2025 release on PlayStation 5.
